There are a number of restaurants to choose from...

 

La Promenade [Michelin star], Le Petit-Pressigny (3km)

Jacky Dallais is the best chef of the area and his restaurant, La Promenade is only a few minutes away by car.  He's been awarded one star by the Michelin Guide.  The food is modern and very tasty with touches from the Tours region, and he has a very good wine list.

 

Chez Grand Ma, Le Grand-Pressigny (7km)

Authentically traditional menus, enriched according to the season. Accomodating and convivial, a pleasant terrace, smiling waitresses and a kitchen of quality.

 

Auberge Savoie-Villars, Le Grand-Pressigny (7km)

Good food; you can sample traditional dishes inspired by the Tourssab="6442">sab="6443"> region. Odile and Joël Granier make every effort to provide a friendly atmosphere so that you can best appreciate their inventive cuisine. Closed Wednesday night and Mondays.

 

Hotel de l'Image, Preuilly-sur-Claise  (12km)
Former 16th century Coaching Inn providing a regional menu in traditional style.  Fresh produce (some from the family garden) is used in the preparation of menus which vary according to season and the produce available.

 

La Gourmandine, Chatellerault (31km) 

Beautifully restored bourgeois home whose high ceilings, mouldings and original fireplace are mingled with contemporary touches and bright colours. Garden-terrace and modern menu

 

Les Haut Sainte Maure, Sainte Maure de Touraine (31km) 

Old Coaching Inn of the 15th century, this vast and beautiful white stone building is split in to 4 houses.  Here all is original and convivial.  Chef Jerome Mourey creates a tasty menu.

 

La Ciboulette, Sainte Maure de Touraine (31km) 

An attractive menu of classic dishes served in a large ivy clad house. Tastefully decorated dining room and summer terrace.

 

Agnus Sorel, Genille  (37km)
Located in the centre of Genille the restaurant Agnus Sorel is owned and operated by Fabrice Menant. He offers food of the greatest quality. Fresh ingredient's has been carefully selected according to the season, taking special attention to mixing aromas and colours in order to seduce all senses of his welcomed guests.

Chanceliere ''Jeu de Cartes'' [Michelin star], Montbazon (40km)

An elegant regional-style building featuring a range of interior styles, including a cosy dining area with colourful decor.  Inventive and classic cuisine served.

 

Christophe Cadieu [Michelin star], St Savin (42km)

This converted barn near the Abbey is now a comfortable restaurant with a pleasant rustic atmosphere, pretty tables and excellent, appetising modern cuisine.

 

La Roche Le Roy [Michelin star], Tours (49km)

Specialties; Roast perch in spicy breadcrumbs. Braised sweetbreads with morel mushrooms. Roast pigeon stuffed with foie gras.  Wines; Vouvray; Chinon. Charming townhouse with an intimate atmosphere. Very nice terrace.

 

Les Hautes Roches [Michelin star], Rochecorbon, (53 km)

An elegant dining room and delightful panoramic terrace facing the river. Modern fare.

Village Shop, Grande Rue, La-Celle-Guenand. Regional products; fruit and vegetables, meat, wine, and also household goods, stamps, dry cleaning, photos, etc.

 

Maison Galland, Ferme Auberge, Betz-le-Chateau (5 mins drive). The old stables have been restored to make a farm shop.

 

Supermarkets - InterMarche or Super U in Descartes (15 mins).
